An Autumnal Food Styling & Photography Workshop
with guest Julie Gibbs
Experience handpicked Southern Highlands autumnal food seen through the eyes of inspirational duo, photographer Abbie Melle and stylist Georgia Ashdown at Bunya House. This time we are offering a full day immersion into the world of cookbook publishing with a guest appearance from award-winning cookbook publisher, Julie Gibbs.
The full day workshop covering food publishing, styling and photography will be held in the beautiful and well-loved Bowral home, Bunya House. The day will focus on the art of cooking, creating inspiring settings and photographing them.
Julie will share her extensive experience and knowledge of all things food and lifestyle books, while cooking from one of the cookbooks she has published. We will follow with a practical session with Georgia working closely with Julie and Abbie, demonstrating styling and photographing the food Julie has prepared, with a mock cookbook brief.
The afternoon will feature a walk around the beautiful Bunya house and gardens, designed by Paul Bangay, as well as practical Airbnb insights and tips by owner and host Camilla Creswick.
There will be time in the afternoon to create and photograph your own styled scenes with guidance and assistance from Georgia and Abbie, as well as stunning still life installations created by Georgia especially for you to linger over with your camera or iPhone. The day will end with an open Q&A session covering any topic you wish to address, and a delicious afternoon tea.
The workshop is designed for people familiar with the basic elements of a camera, with Abbie demonstrating and teaching the use of manual settings, working with natural light, and creating beautiful images with a story, throughout the sessions. That being said, iphones are also very welcome and can be used in place of a camera.
Food for the day will be prepared by the outstanding local chef Alexander Watts and includes morning tea followed by a delicious, autumnal lunch paired with a selection of local wines.
The team will host two single day workshops held on consecutive days.

TIME: 9.30am for 10am - 4pm
